Here is a roundup of things that really worked for me. I want to point out that these are things that worked on my face, hair and mind and they may not work the same for you. Some of these things are expensive and I would not recommend you buying anything that is above you budget. These are things that did what they claimed to do, according to me, and upon repeated application. Without further ado I will present the list below
1. Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive Moist: This winter I came back from Shillong with the worst tan, and a black icky acne scar on my chin. I was not able to carry this essence with me because it’s bulky as hell and made of glass, so I could not use it. Once I was back home I slathered generous amounts on my skin and within 5 days my skin evened out, my tan was visibly reduced and so was the acne scar. Someone told me that this did not work for them but it worked wonders for me and really brightened my skin.
2. The Ordinary’s Glycolic Toner and the Buffet Serum:
I use this toner once a day, in my night time routine, on alternate days. Personally I think it is one of the best acid toners available. One day I was using a cotton round soaked in this toner over my black head riddled forehead and I swear I saw little bits of the icky black gunk of the blackhead on the cotton round. When I use the Buffet serum over this toner, my skin looks practically radiant in the morning. The Buffet is an anti- aging serum. These two together is the best combination for me, and I use it for days I want my skin to look good. I don’t know if this combination would work well for others as it did for me, but maybe you could try on your arm first.
3. Clinique’s Mineral Sunscreen 50 SPF:
This mineral sunscreen protected my skin all through my travels in Berlin, Copenhagen and Vienna. My skin is very sensitive to the sun and I burn very easily. I found my skin to be comparatively in better shape when I had this on on my skin. Vacationing in Europe means a lot of walking, which means a lot of sun exposure and I was well protected with this product on. A huge plus is that it leaves no white cast, but it’s super pricey. If it makes you feel better I have been using this bottle for six months and there’s still quite a bit left, so at least it lasts.
4. Drunk Elephant’s Lippie Balm
This lip balm is hydrating without making your lips feel greasy or heavy and makes them feel plumper than they are. It is terribly overpriced though.
5. Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm
This is such a good makeup remover and makes my skin feel so squeaky clean. It’s able to take out my stubborn mascaras and pigmented red lips in a jiffy. It comes in such a large jar that I think will last me till the rapture happens.
6.Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal Coconut Oil Micro Exfoliating Shampoo
I have an oily, flaky, itchy scalp. I can wash my hair with the mildest shampoo and still flakes come off every time I rub my scalp. I read about this shampoo, got one to try it out and I’m hooked. This stuff works well, cools my head and makes my hair smell so good. A little goes a long way. If you can afford to spend a few extra coins maybe you can invest in this.
7. Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil
This makes filling your brows really easy if you have thick brows like me. Also I’ve had this for over a year and I use it everyday but it still isn’t finished.
8.The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle:
This book was as thrilling and intriguing as it promised it would be. Have not finished a book so quickly in so long. I could not put this down. Highly recommend. It did what it said it would by getting me hooked and I really hope it’s made into a series.
9. Batiste Dry Shampoo
Cheap and does what it says. I use it in the night so it absorbs my oils properly and I wake up with nicer hair. I also use it to give volume to my fine hair.
10. Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair Conditioner
This conditioner really helps tame my extremely frizzy hair. It makes my hair soft and manageable. I like it better than the shampoo.
All these are available at Nykaa or Cultbeauty.
